Description
Horse gram is a low-growing, slender, sub erect annual or perennial herb that grows about 30-60 cm tall with a perennial fibrous rhizome. Macrotyloma uniflorum is a legume native to tropical southern Asia, commonly grown for horse feed and occasionally for human consumption and in Ayurvedic cuisine.
It contains high iron, calcium, carbohydrates, protein and low in fat. Its low lipid and sodium content and slow digestible starch make it ideal for diabetic and patients.
